Mickey Waffle Recipe

One of my favorite parts about a Disney vacation is the unique food that you can find. And, as you might imagine, the home of the world's most famous mouse has quite a few Mickey shaped treats. Here's a delicious recipe for Mickey Waffles, a Disney staple to help keep the magic alive in between visits to the parks or cruise ships:

If you really want these waffles to look the part, not just taste it, you're going to need  your very own Mickey Waffle Maker. This one, available from Amazon.com, is the one that we use at my house and we absolutely love it. It has lasted for years and has given us many tasty waffles.

Another key ingredient, even dubbed the, "secret ingredient," by some is Carbon's Golden Malted Flour. That, too, is available on Amazon. You can totally make the recipe with your all-purpose flour, too. No worries!

So, now that we have our waffle maker and our flour, let's get to cooking!

Ingredients
4 eggs, separated
1 cup milk
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt (optional)
2 cups flour
1/4 cup butter, melted and allowed to cool
1 Tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract (optional)

  • Beat egg yolks and sugar in a bowl until light.
  • Add cooled, melted butter, milk, and vanilla extract.
  • Add flour, baking powder, and salt. Beat well.
  • Beat egg whites until still and gently fold into batter.
  • Bake, serve, and enjoy!
