Minnie's Bake Shop Cookie Recipe

My family had some extra snack allotments left over on our Dining Plan the last time that we went to Disney World. And so, we decided to pick up some delicious goodies to bring back home, one of our favorites being Minnie's Bake Shop Cookies - the chocolate chip supreme kind. By 2 weeks after we had come home, when no one had yet eaten the cookies, my wife and I decided to enjoy them ourselves. Well, wouldn't you know it, the next day my son was asking for them. Oops! What to do now? Well, my wife found a copycat recipe online and, I have to say, they were spot on! Not only were these among the best chocolate chip cookies that I have ever had (certainly that I have ever made), they tasted exactly like they came direct from Disney World! And so, it only seemed fair that I share the recipe, to tide you over until you head to Disney, too!

Minnie's Bake Shop Cookies:
Chocolate Chip Supreme

Ingredients
1 cup Butter, softened
1 cup Brown Sugar
3/4 cup Powdered/Confectioners Sugar
1 Egg
2 Tbs. Water
2 tsp. Vanilla
2 2/3 cup All-Purpose Flour
1/2 tsp. Salt
1/2 tsp. Baking Soda
3/4 cup Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
3/4 cup Dark Chocolate Chips
3/4 cup Wilton Candy Dips, Light Cocoa (broken into 2-4 pieces each)
3/4 cup Toffee Bits

  • Place Butter, Brown Sugar, & Powdered Sugar in a large bowl and cream, using an electric mixer set on high.
  • Add Egg, Water, & Vanilla and mix well.
  • Add Flour, Salt, & Baking Soda, mixing well to incorporate.
  • Add in Semi-Sweet Chocolate, Dark Chocolate, Candy Dips, & Toffee Bits, mixing to combine after each candy is added.
  • Preheat oven to 400˚.
  • Using a standard-size ice cream scoop, place heaping scoops of dough onto baking sheets, fitting 6 scoops per 6"x12" sheet (making a total of 12 cookies).
  • Place baking sheets in freezer for 15 minutes (this step hardens the butter, preventing the cookies from over-expanding).
  • Remove from freezer and place into pre-heated, 400˚ oven for 2 minutes.
  • Lower oven temperature to 350˚ and bake cookies for an additional 15 minutes (this 2-step baking process allows the outside of the cookies to become crisp, while leaving the inside of the cookies soft and chewy).
  • Remove from oven and allow cookies to cool, on baking sheet, for 5 minutes.
  • Move the cookies to a wire rack and allow them to cool completely (about 15 minutes).

And there you have it! Straight from the Walt Disney World Resort... to you! Many thanks to TheDisneyDiner.com for putting this recipe together in the first place. And, now, you have yet another recipe to help you pass the time until your next trip the the Most Magical Delicious Place On Earth!
