Shamu Stadium Set To Reopen This Month!

The renovation of SeaWorld Orlando's "Shamu Stadium" is almost complete and whale shows will resume later this month! Work on the stadium began in January, putting the show, "One Ocean," on hiatus since that time. "One Ocean,"will begin again on April 11, 2014. Park guests who would like to catch it before its official opening are welcome to observe rehearsals, beginning on April 4, 2014. SeaWorld has been clear to warn guests, however, that they may not see full run throughs of the show at these rehearsals. "Dine With Shamu," an option that includes both a poolside meal with an educational session on whale training, will return to the general public at SeaWorld on April 14, 2014, with a special preview available to annual passholders on April 12-13.

During the construction period, SeaWorld has been offering, "Upclose with Shamu" a program that provided guests an opportunity to watch trainers work with the whales in a side pool. This offering will cease on April 3, 2014, the day before the rehearsals for "One Ocean" begin.

Shamu will also be preparing for a new nighttime show, set to debut on June 21, 2014, "Shamu's Celebration: Light Up The Night!"
