A member of my Disney Family (people who I have helped to plan magical Disney Vacations) recently sent me this fun little Disney story and it sounded like just the thing to pass along! Enjoy!
"As you know (maybe) I drive a lot! My job keeps me going!!! But every once in a while you just gotta "talk DISNEY" with perfect strangers at a truck stop in Houston!!! I did that this past Sunday evening! I was driving to New Orleans, Louisiana and my little side kick Bodacious and I had to stretch our legs and use the facilities!!! As I was heading into the store I noticed a family of 7 piling out of a small SUV. It was comical a little, to watch 3 little girls, 1 little boy and 3 grown ups climb out and get their legs to work again after being in the SUV for so long!!! They were traveling from Phoenix, Arizona. They left at 3:00 a.m. Az. time and I met them at the truck stop around 7 p.m. Tx. time!!! The little boy was the grumpiest cause he was sitting in the back with all of the luggage!!! Anyway our conversation happened because he was not a happy camper and I could tell the grown ups were a little more than 'not happy' with his grumbling!!! So I asked the little boy where they were heading, he said he didn't know, only Mommy knows!!! I asked him then if Mommy had been doing all the driving and he told me no, Daddy had been driving for a long time. I winked at him and I told him that if Daddy was driving that Daddy knew where they were going too. I told him that maybe he needed to sweet talk Daddy into telling them where they were going!!!
"So as he was heading over to 'sweet talk' Daddy I went on about my way! Hopefully it didn't make anybody upset with me!!! LOL. But, this was not the case!!! It made everything that the grow ups had planned go even better!!! They (grown ups) had already decided to tell the kiddos where they were going when they got to Houston. So right on cue, here is the little boy begging for info!!! I walked out of the store just in time to see the kids opening little boxes with their very own MAGICBANDS!!!! I was almost as excited as they were!!! I told the little boy that he was going to have a lot of fun, then I told him that he might have to ride on the hood of the car cause I was going to be sitting in his place!!! He laughed and asked me if I had ever been to WDW?? I told him I had, once I said that then all the questions started!! Not just from the kids, but from the grown ups too. The poor Mom had no idea about all the things that she could do with the magicband! She had gotten the packet a few weeks back, but had never opened it. For fear of the kids finding anything! So right in the middle of a truck stop in Houston, Texas I was giving her and her family a quick rundown on all things DISNEY!!! She was going to try and set up FP's on the MB's while they traveled the rest of the way to Florida!! They were gonna be at Disney for 16 days, staying at POP Century. I gave her your web addresses, to help her along the way, and I gave her your info too, just in case!!! She said that her travel agent did not give her any info on fast passes, dining, photos or anything, just a price and a Thank You!!! I was shocked to say the least, but I know that not all travel agents are into Disney :-/
"So as we were saying our goodbyes and safe travels the little boy asked me very seriously how come I wasn't going with them? He said I won't be grumpy anymore if you go!! I looked at him and I said I couldn't go with them because I didn't know his name!!! In one breath he said, my name is Charles now you know my name you can come with ME!!!! I told him a million excuses after that to get outta being in trouble with him. But I told him to go to YouTube and watch the rides that were posted on there, that way he would have an idea about all the rides! Cause those were the questions he was asking!!!
"It was nice meeting them and right now as I am writing to you, I'm secretly wishing that I had gone with them!!!!
"Till my next trip........"
Thanks so much for sharing and for spreading the Disney Love, Corene!
