Disney World Deposit, Reservation Change, & Cancellation Guide - 2015

No one wants anything to get in the way of their Disney World vacation but, let's be honest, sometimes things happen, and it's definitely best to, as The Lion King's Scar would say, "Be Prepared." Here's the information that you need to know about the finance end of your Disney Vacation, starting all the way back with your deposit.

Booking Your Disney Vacation

  • For reservations made 46 days more more prior to guest arrival
    • A deposit of $200 is due at the time of booking.
    • For reservations that include air transportation, the total price of airline tickets is also due at the time of booking.
    • For reservations that include travel insurance, the total price of travel insurance is due at the time of booking.
    • Final payment is due at least 45 days prior to guest arrival.
  • For reservations made 45 days or less prior to guest arrival
    • Payment in full is due at the time of booking.

Changing Your Disney Vacation
  • For changes made 45 days or more prior to guest arrival
    • Changes to the Disney portion of the reservation can be made without additional fees.
  • For changes made 44 days or less prior to guest arrival
    • If changes result in a lowered total package price, a change fee of $50 will be charged.
  • In all instances, if air transportation has been ticketed, guest will be responsible for any increase in airfare as well as the change fee assessed by the airline and any fees assessed by other third party suppliers.

Canceling Your Disney Vacation

  • For cancellations made 45 days or more prior to guest arrival
    • Amounts paid, minus cancellation fees assessed by third party suppliers and travel insurance premiums will be refunded.
  • For cancellation made 2 days to 44 days prior to guest arrival
    • Amounts paid, minus a cancellation fee of $200 and minus any cancellation fees assessed by third party suppliers and travel insurance premiums will be refunded. No refunds are given for cancellation of any personalized products or experiences.
  • For cancellations made 1 day or less prior to guest arrival
    • The full price of the package is non-refundable.
  • In all instances, guest will be responsible for any cancellation fees assessed by an airline.
  • Travel insurance premium is refundable within 14 days after the date the insurance is added to the reservation, as long as the guest has not filed a claim or departed on the trip.
  • No refunds will be made for early departure from hotel and unused admission tickets, options or features, including meals.
