The Festival of the Lion King show at Disney's Animal Kingdom will be leaving its location at Camp Minnie-Mickey on January 5, 2014. Construction is already under way on a brand new theatre to house the song, dance, and gymnastic extravaganza. That new location, in the African area of the park, is schedule to open around July 2014, meaning an approximate 6 month hiatus for the extremely popular live show. Aside from getting spectacular new diggs in an area of Animal Kingdom that is an even better fit than its old home, Festival of the Lion King is also relocating to make way for the an Avatar Themed area, coming to the park in the new few years.
