Haunted Mansion Holiday 2016

This morning, we were talking Spooky; Now let's talk Festive... or is this still on the Eerie side... Over at Disneyland Park, sometimes lines can be blurred. Check out what the Imagineers have in store for this year's Haunted Mansion Holiday Gingerbread House:

FIRST LOOK: 2016 Haunted Mansion Holiday Gingerbread House at Disneyland Park

In the spirit of Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas herself, " 'The whole structure has been cobbled and stitched together from other different gingerbread houses and treats,' says Tim Wollweber, Associate Art Director for Disney Parks who designed this year’s house. 'But it appears that sometime during the house’s construction, a gingerbread ghoul was entombed! Apparently he’s eager to sew himself up inside – much like another mansion graveyard ghoul you’ve probably seen.' "

And, in case you were wondering, this year's house will be made from:

• 200 lbs. Gingerbread
• 200 lbs. Powdered Sugar
• 4 gallons Egg Whites
• 1 gallon Lemon Juice
• 50 lbs. Fondant
• 1/3 lb. Glitter

Kylo Ren Is Coming To Disney Parks

The new evil villain of the Star Wars Saga will be making his way to Disney Parks next month! Meeting with Guests on the bridge of his First Order Star Destroyer, Kylo Ren will take the place of Darth Vader at the Star Wars Launch Bay in both Disneyland Park and Disney's Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World. Chewbacca, who currently meets with Guests in a secret resistance base, will continue to do so.

From personal experience, I can also tell you that there is definitely the likelihood that you'll run into some First Order Stormtroopers outside of the Launch Bay and maybe even some Jaws inside, if you hang out long enough...

Sneak Peek at the New Rivers of America

In order for construction to begin on the all-new Star Wars-themed land at Disneyland Park, the Rivers of America and the Disneyland Railroad have had to close temporarily. However, when they reopen, the will be even better than ever!

"The north bank of the Rivers of America will feature a beautiful new waterfront. The new riverbank will also include an elevated trestle over which the Disneyland Railroad will travel."

Here's a snack peek, drawn up by Disney Imagineering:

Disney's Christmas Day Parade TV Special Gets Frozen (Plus Show Taping Dates!)

Disney's Christmas Day Parade
is an annual tradition
that dates back 31 years!
Princess Anna, Queen Elsa and Gang are continuing to leave their mark at the Disney Parks, as this year's Christmas Day Parade gets Frozen. Aptly titled Disney Parks Frozen Christmas Celebration, here's what the ABC Television Network (owned by the Walt Disney Company) has to say about it's upcoming special:
"Music, magic and merriment come together when Disneyland Resort in California and Walt Disney World Resort in Florida present the 31st annual Christmas Day parade and TV special. The star-studded sounds of the season include some of today's top musical talents lending their voices to celebrate the holidays. And, from fairy tales to classic Christmas carols, Disney friends and holiday characters spread joy and good tidings through Disneyland Park in California and the Magic Kingdom Park in Florida. This year promises some extra Frozen fun with fanciful floats and colorful cavalcades as Santa Claus himself along with his reindeer, wind their holly jolly way down Main Street, USA."
The special is scheduled to air at 10:00am-12:00pm EST. However, the event is not live. It is currently scheduled to be taped from December 6-9, 2014. All guests are invited to attend the taping along with their park admission for the day. Keep in mind, however, the parade does not run straight through, from start to finish. Floats may stop and be restarted, performers may repeat their routines a number of times... Though it is a fabulous opportunity to check out, first hand, all of the work and time that goes into shooting a television special! It may also prove to be a fantastic day to visit other Magic Kingdom attractions, since so many other guest will be watching the parade taping.

A Jungle Cruise Holiday Makeover

Beginning in November, and lasting for the holiday season, the Disney classic attraction, Jungle Cruise, will undergo a first-time-ever transformation at both Disneyland Park and Magic Kingdom Park! So, get set to enjoy the "Jingle Cruise!"
In this new seasonal storyline of the attraction, the Skippers have grown homesick for the holidays, so they've added holiday cheer to the Jungle Cruise queue and boathouse with decorations that have been mailed to them from home (plus a few they've created themselves). The Skippers also added a slew of new jokes to their tours that are the perfect way to get guests in the holiday spirit. Additionally, Jungle Cruise boats have been renamed with the holidays in mind, and if guests listen carefully, they may hear a holiday-themed radio broadcast playing in the background.
Happy Holidays!

Fantastic Fireworks Viewing Areas

One of the great things about Disney is that, really, they're always trying to figure out how to make the
experience at their parks the most magical it can possibly be. Today, they've gone so far as to make suggestions as to some of the best viewing areas for the "Magical" fireworks spectacular at Disneyland park!

They suggest checking out the fireworks from Main Street, USA. It's a classic area, giving you that beautiful view of Sleepy Beauty Castle with fireworks bursting into bloom, creating a picture perfect image for you to keep with you until your next visit.

How about viewing them from the "it's a small world," ride? There is even a mini-show there, with extra projections added onto the facade of the attraction that go right along with the fireworks show itself.

The Rivers of America is another amazing location to check out the show. Why? Because it is also home to the incredible and always fantastic, "Fantasmic!" show. Get there for "Fantasmic!" and stay right where you are for, "Magical." Couldn't be any easier, or any prettier.

With music from some of your favorite Disney classics coupled with fireworks shaped like a mouse that you might know make for an amazing show that will make all other fireworks pale in comparison. "Magical" is a great way to end your night and a wonderful memory to take home with you.
